The Enschede Marathon: every year it’s a day packed with achievements, emotions, aching legs, and, above all, plenty of exhausted faces. I cruise across and along the course to capture all those struggling heroes in action.

A marathon is an emotional rollercoaster. I can’t speak from experience myself, but I love capturing that journey for the runners. From the intense focus at the start to that exhausted yet satisfied "I-actually-made-it" grin just after the finish line. I take these photos so that everyone who crosses that line has tangible proof of their achievement. Because let’s be honest: if there’s no photo, did it even really happen?
